• Georgia Tech Football: A Simple Truth

Talent wins. Plain and simple. Georgia Tech flat out does not have enough talent.

The last 4-5 years of "beating" Western Kentucky, Middle Tennesseee, Arkansas State, UAB, Western Carolina for recruits is starting to show in the results we have seen the past few seasons. We're a team in a high major conference, playing with mid and low major talent.

We have some good high major talent on the team, but that's being negated by key positions being manned by lower level talent. It's not the players' fault, if you're headed to a low/mid major school and a school like GT offers, of course you're going to take it. Good for the recruits...bad for GT.

I'm tired of "insiders" popping up when a recruit with questionable skills commits to us telling us "That guy was high on our coaches board", or "The recruit performed well in our camps and our coaches offered on the spot."

When we lose, those same "insiders" are nowhere to be found. I'm also tired of hearing how other schools are negatively recruiting against us. THAT'S CALLED RECRUITING! It's obvious that if we're losing kids to negative recruiting, then our coaches aren't good enough to defend GT against it.

We don't have the facilities of Alabama, or Oregon, or Texas, but we've got some of the best facilities in college football. We have donors willing to put money up when our programs need to improve those facilities. We have an indoor practice facility in an expensive in-fill city when powerhouse programs like Florida and Georgia located in cheap real estate areas can't get them. We spend as much money as almost anyone in recruiting. Resources are NOT an excuse.

So what's the problem? I think it's pretty obvious.

did we ever see this major OL woe coming, though, All? none of the "insiders" nor just your casual poster saw such poor OL depth and play coming here in year 6. we haven't been recruiting 2* kids across the board on OL. we've been picking up some solid recruits for quite a few years now. my biggest concern is mike sewak is not coaching them up worth a damn and CPJ ain't holding his feet to the fire. like CAG squandered talent on D for years, i feel like we've done the same with our OL. very disappointing.

Yep. You're right. Its unbelievable how much more talented and athletic BYU is compared to our team. Our offense is a joke. Our OL is terrible. The only real player we have on offense is Godhigh.

Not much left to say after the latest embarrassment against BYU. I consider them a middle of the road team in college football, and they whipped Tech in every aspect of the game.

Nothing left for Tech but to tear it all down at seasons end, fire Johnson, and rebuild from scratch. The football program is broken beyond repair, and no one associated with it right now is capable of fixing it...

Not only that Cobbie look at how agressive they were on both sides of the ball....they put out every play..Course we made them look good but they are a pretty good team that stumbled twice...We need to do better and soon
