• GT vs BYU Tonight - A Sobering Thought

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets play BYU tonight with a chance to get their season back on track. A win would certainly give the team and fan base a shot in the arm and kick start this 2013 season.

Never thought a non-conference game against a team like BYU would be a "must win"... but a loss to BYU would most likely mean a 7-5 would be as good as it gets this year. GT will be a huge underdog to Clemson and UGA, not that an upset can't happen, but would you lay a large bet on GT beating either one straight up? Well, would you?

A loss against BYU could mean bowl streak broken, possibly another losing record, 'cause the margin of error would be zero and almost zero.

This is a huge game and I expect the Yellow Jackets to be fired up and to have Coach Johnson pull out all the stops in trying to secure a win against a good, but not great BYU team.

If you are a GT fan who enjoys an alcoholic or fermented malt beverage, I would suggest securing an extra 12-pack and double up on the hard stuff tonight.

If by "pull out all the stops in trying to secure a win" you mean going for it on a 4th and 2 on your own 35 yard line on a sub-par night for offensive production, I hope not.

I expect our boys to come out FIRED UP and WELL PREPARED. Surely they'll want some revenge for last year's home loss and our head coach will have no problems motivating and focusing them on the task at hand.

BYU blows. They lost to the Cadavers, who got their asssses handed to them by My Balls St, fercrissakes.

Every Mormon I've ever met is a nice person but to hell with 'em for the next 24 hours!

I don't recall anyone pissing about the 4th down conversions last week. You either have the balls to go for it or not. I'd rather have that instead of a NFL Gailey-style coach punting every 4th down and short with the game on the line.

I love CPJ's going for it on fourth. I bitched a lot about him losing his mojo a few years ago. In 2011 we only tried 19 times in 13 games or about 1 1/2 a game. Against Miami we went 5 times and made it four. It would have been easy to give up after being 0-3 against VT.

I hope CPJ goes for it on any reasonable opprotunities tonight. COnverting is like a turnover.

I'd also like for us to go for 2 after every TD (except at game end possibly) since the expected scoring is about 1.4 points. But that would take real mojo that no one has -- yet. I think someone in the pros or CFB will start it soon, unless they want to keep their job since it's better to lose conventionally than have a higher chance to win and be a poster boy for failed opportunity.

I'm about to pull out the heavy stuff. This is getting ugly fast.
