On National Signing Day Ryan Rodwell faxed in his Letter of Intent and officially joined the Georgia Tech football program.Standing before Jacket fans gathered at The Edge Center, assistant coach Lamar Owens extended his greetings, “We’re excited to have the Rodwell family and Ryan joining Georgia Tech and we welcome him to the family.”
Rodwell is a 6-2, 215 pound punter who was an all-state selection for the Deland, Florida high school team.
This past season Rodwell punted 48 times for an average of 43 yards. He has a quick "get away" time and his hang time hovers just over 4 seconds.
In addition to adding his much needed punting skills, Rodwell fits in the classroom as well. He’s a member of the engineering academy at his high school and he looks to study industrial engineering at Georgia Tech.
Rodwell is rated nationally as the 24th best punter in the 2012 class by 247Sports.
