Georgia Tech wide receiver commit Mike Summers and his Statesboro High School team had a great year but came up short in the state high school playoffs last Friday night.
Statesboro fought back from a 21-7 fourth quarter deficit when Summers leapt in from one yard out to score the tying touchdown late in the game.
It wasn't meant to be, though, as Summers' #1 ranked Blue Devils had their state championship dreams ended by #4 Thomas Central 31-28 in overtime.
Summers has excellent speed, having been timed at a blistering sub 4.4 in the forty yard dash. But feels he'll bring more than just speed to the Georgia Tech football team, a statement he made prior to last Friday night's game.
"At Georgia Tech they have receivers that are great blockers. I feel that I can bring that to the table also 'cause the offense we run in high school is the wishbone and I play running back and wide receiver so I'm pretty physical."
