• Georgia Tech Commit Francis Kallon Update

Francis Kallon is having a great time playing football at Central Gwinnett High School.

Since giving Georgia Tech his verbal commitment this past June, he has been working hard at developing his skills in a game that up until this past spring he had never played.

Despite limited experience, the 6’5” 260 pound defensive lineman is playing well and he looks forward to tonight’s match-up against Grayson High School. Kallon’s team will be going up against one of the top defensive ends in the state, Robert Nkemdichie, so he would like to see how his skills compare.

Along with 25 other Georgia Tech recruits, Kallon enjoyed last Thursday night’s upset victory over Clemson.

“The Yellow Jackets cracked that Clemson pressure and ended up picking up a big win. So it was a really, really great game,” Kallon said.

How solid is Kallon’s commitment to Georgia Tech? Hear the answer to that question and many more in this exclusive Francis Kallon 12-minute interview by subscribing to GTSportsTalk Gold.

Thanks, Francis. If you are you, you're doing a great job learning the american version of football. Can't wait to see you on the flats!

Thanks for coming to GT. The best is yet to come for CPJs teams here and you'll be part of building that legacy.

We have trouble getting elite talent since the classwork is so hard. But it will prepare you better for life IMHO. And talent isn't performance, its only the capability. Good luck!

Francis, everything I know about you tells me that you are a class act, an honorable person, and your word is important to you.

I CANNOT WAIT to see you wearing a GT Jersey, know that you will be welcome, and we all look forward to watching your growth both as a football player, and as a man.

francis WILL be an impact player on the flats very soon. we need him, too. we've got the pieces falling into place on the secondary. we've got some LBs in the pipeline. we get our DL shored up with talent like kallon's and we're in for some GREAT defensive performances.

Does Francis project as a DE or OLB in Groh's D?

i'd like to see him on the DL myself after he's bulked up. but, i haven't heard mention of specifics.

I dunno, stone. I'd rather see him chase qb's and tackle rb's, not occupy blockers.

I think he's at 260 right now? He's certainly bigger than the stats on scout show from what I've read.

No. I'm saying he may be better suited at OLB because that's what they do.

Well, I agree. He may be too big for OLB, but as long as he keeps his wheels, I suppose it doesn't matter. 260 is D. Ware size...and he's only a senior!

Did anyone take a look at the film of their running back George Morris? His highlight video looks really good. He has nice vision and shiftiness. I'm ready to see GT get some good local running backs. The state is loaded with backs, and I can't understand why we don't have a stable full. Does anyone know if he has the grades to go to tech?
